Meet Emily Eker

National Account Manager – Woolworths | Sydney | 3 years at CCEP

Building a career across finance, sales and some of Australia’s biggest brands

How did your journey at CCEP start?

I first connected with CCEP through the UTS Co-op Program while studying at university. I applied directly for the Finance Graduate Program and was fortunate enough to secure a place.

I was drawn to the breadth of experience on offer, but the people really stood out. From the interview process onwards, everyone was generous with their time and genuinely willing to share their knowledge.

The Finance graduate program included four six-month rotations, giving me exposure to different areas of the business, including Finance Partnering (Sales) , Procurement and Supply chain Finance. I also spent six months in New Zealand as part of the program, which pushed me outside my comfort zone and gave me the opportunity to experience a different market and work with teams overseas.

After graduating from the program, I moved into a Senior Analyst role in our Away From Home team, where I spent a year strengthening my commercial and financial acumen. When the opportunity came up to move into my current role as National Account Manager, I was excited to take on something new.

Throughout that journey, the support from my managers and mentors has made a real difference. My graduate program mentor, Henry, as well as my former managers Anna (Snr Finance BP), Luke (Director of Finance) and Kayla (Associate Director of Finance) have all been incredibly supportive and still check in with me today. That ongoing support, alongside the opportunities I've been given, has helped accelerate my growth at CCEP.

What opportunities have helped you grow?

The graduate program gave me a strong foundation and an internal network across different functions, but I think a lot of my development has come from staying curious and looking beyond the immediate requirements of my role.

I’ve always wanted to understand the why behind what we do, not just the what. Asking questions, learning how different teams operate and putting my hand up for opportunities outside my usual remit have helped me build a broader understanding of the business.

Having managers and mentors who encourage that curiosity and support me through career transitions has also been invaluable.

What do you enjoy most about working at CCEP?

The people, without a doubt. Everyone is friendly, approachable and willing to help, which makes it easy to build relationships and learn from people across the business.

I also really value the flexibility and trust we’re given. There’s a genuine sense of ownership in how we work, with the freedom to prioritise and deliver outcomes. That trust creates an environment where people feel engaged, supported and able to do their best work.

Most importantly, you feel heard and valued. It’s a great feeling to know you can contribute ideas, keep learning and build your career while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

What’s your favourite CCEP product and why?

Diet Coke! It’s my go-to favourite.

What advice would you give someone considering a career at CCEP?

Be curious, get involved and ask lots of questions. Take the initiative to learn more about the business and look for opportunities to develop beyond your day-to-day role.

There are so many people here who are willing to support you, so make the most of that. You don’t need to have everything figured out from day one, stay open to new experiences, back yourself and be proactive about where you want to go next.
