Purpose of the role:

Demand Planning is part of the GB Planning & Commercialisation Department which includes: Commercialisation, Demand Planning, Production Planning, Materials Planning, Allocation and Deployment.

The Demand Planning team are responsible for leading the Sales & Operations Planning process within the GB BU to ensure that imbalances between demand and supply are proactively identified and co-ordinated solutions are put in place in a timely manner. Demand Planning are responsible for managing the demand signal across a group of product portfolios and customers for the purposes of driving Supply Chain and supporting an accurate supply plan that maximises service to our customers at the lowest cost.

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading the S&OP process and demand planning process across a group of product portfolios and customers.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Associate Director for Demand Planning, the key responsibilities of the Senior Manager Demand Planning are:

  • Leads and develops a team of demand planners and customer demand analysts
  • Reviews, validates and presents the demand plan in cross-functional forums such as pre sign-off and sign-off meetings (S&OP meetings)
  • Chairs monthly demand review meetings and plays a key role in driving demand/sales plan alignment though the S&OP meetings with Sales Directors and other key stakeholders (AD Commercial Finance, AD Revenue Growth Management)
  • Leads collaboration with Supply Planning on resolution of supply chain issues, on aligning on safety stock levels, on root causing and improving performance
  • Leads conversations with Finance on valurisation of Demand Plan
  • Drives continuous improvement in the demand planning process and in key metrics such as forecast accuracy whilst developing routines, processes and capabilities within the Demand Planning team
  • Supports the delivery of the wider Supply Chain / Planning & Commercialization strategy through management of broader initiatives and projects
  • Acts as point of escalation and decision maker when covering for the AD Demand Planning

Skills & Essentials:

  • Extensive Demand Planning / Supply Chain experience in an FMCG environment, with a track record of delivering continuous improvements across process and KPI’s
  • Proven team management experience and the ability to deliver results through others
  • Excellent communication (including presentations) with the ability to run highly effective meetings
  • Be able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, and simplify complex messages
  • Ability to engage and positively influence internal & external stakeholders. Ability to manage upwards
  • Highly analytical with proficiency in the use of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Great organization skills and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage conflicting agendas
  • Proven ability to deal with complex and ambiguous information
  • Experience in demand or business planning systems
  • Degree educated preferred
