The role:

This position will support operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and optimizing all facilities and manufacturing equipment including but not limited to: construction, painting, plumbing, welding, heating/cooling, automation and fire protection systems in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the Mechanical Supervisor/ Maintenance Manager.  This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals

Our desired candidate:

A well-presented, highly personable and efficient candidate who can work independently in a challenging environment. The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum requirements: 

  • Minimum Mechanical Tradesman Certificate
  • Diploma in Heavy Duty Fitter Machinist
  • Technical/vocational training and understanding of chemical batch control operations will be and advantage.
  • 3 years of experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment. Associate's degree in a technical discipline could be substituted for work experience.
  • Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, materials, equipment, and safe working practices involved in the operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of machinery.
  • Have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate a matured approach.
  • Willing to work on Shift, Weekends and when required.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have basic knowledge on workplace safety.
  • Skill in utilizing specialized tools and equipment related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of machinery.
