Field Service Team Manager (Equipment Services) - Townsville, QLD

The Opportunity

We're looking for a passionate and people-focused Field Service Team Manager to lead our North Queensland Equipment & Services (EQS) team, based in Townsville, QLD, on Full-Time permanent basis.

Leading a team of 8-10 Field Service Technicians across North Queensland, you'll be responsible for driving a culture of safety, customer excellence and operational performance across a geographically diverse region. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys coaching teams, building capability and delivering results.

Success in this role will come from your ability to engage, support and lead a field-based workforce across multiple locations, building a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and high performance. You'll remain connected to field operations by conducting monthly route rides alongside technicians to coach, develop and support your team, while also undertaking occasional regional travel across North Queensland as business and operational needs require.

About the Role

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 8-10 Field Service Technicians across North Queensland.
  • Create a high-performance culture with clear expectations, accountability and support for individual and team success.
  • Drive performance across safety, productivity, service quality and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Conduct monthly field route rides to support technician development, customer engagement and operational excellence.
  • Manage workforce planning, technician performance and resource allocation across a geographically dispersed region.
  • Build strong relationships with Sales, Operations and key stakeholders to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, capability and service performance.
  • Ensure equipment uptime, compliance standards and operational targets are consistently achieved.

About You

  • Previous experience leading teams within a field service, technical, trade or operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and hold teams accountable for performance outcomes.
  • Experience successfully managing a dispersed or remote workforce across multiple locations.
  • A strong communicator who can build engagement, influence stakeholders and lead through change.
  • Able to establish credibility with technical teams through a practical understanding of field service operations.
  • Safety-focused, customer-centric and committed to delivering operational excellence.
  • Experience using SAP is beneficial but not essential. You're comfortable learning new systems and can confidently navigate technology, reporting and operational tools.
  • Highly organised with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Electrical or Refrigeration qualification is beneficial but not essential.
