Associate Director, Tax,  France, Ireland and Bulgaria     

What do you become a part of -

Reporting directly to the VP Tax and Customs based in the UK, the Associate Director, will maintain the CCEP Group tax strategy, policy and procedures in relation to taxation issues impacting the CCEP Group and operations in France, Ireland and Bulgaria.

You will collaborate within the CCEP Group regarding global tax planning opportunities and global corporate tax compliance/reporting and be responsible of their respective implementation in the CCEP French, Bulgarian and Irish entities. The position also requires management of local tax audits, assisting with local statutory/tax compliance and to provide leadership and/or support to the Business in France, Ireland and Bulgaria.

What you will do –

  • Identify, report and manage key areas of tax risks and opportunities and ensure consistency with the CCEP tax strategy, policies, and governance framework, to ensure that CCEP meets its tax obligations in the most efficient manner. This means full ownership and accountability for all taxes which fall under the responsibility of the tax department for France, Ireland and Bulgaria.
  • Function as the key tax partner for the French, Irish and Bulgarian businesses and provide proactive, effective, and impactful tax advice to CCEP local senior leadership stakeholders in relation to changes in the business or as a result of relevant local and international tax legislation.
  • Perform as a key member of the CCEP Group's tax leadership team, actively engage in sharing information and developing team members, alongside of driving and leading Group projects such as merger & acquisitions, dividend repatriation, financing, restructures and other Group tax initiatives.
  • Responsible and accountable for the French, Irish and Bulgarian tax compliance function overseeing the tax compliance, tax reporting and planning functions and collaborate closely with those teams (e.g., Record to report).
  • Actively lead, participate, and contribute to the development of the tax teams’ capabilities and create a collaborative working environment.
  • Broker and maintain key relationships with external stakeholders such as the tax authorities in France, Ireland and Bulgaria, CCEP external auditors, TCCC tax group and tax advisors to ensure consistent quality and adherence to global principles across relevant jurisdictions. This includes lobbying and responding to legislative consultation documents to support the business objectives of CCEP. 
  • Lead the collaboration with CCEP tax and finance teams, and external advisors to develop strategies to respond to tax audits and review across the region in addition to the preparation of responses to external tax inquiries across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing and proposed tax laws and regulations in CCEP international jurisdictions, including France, Ireland and Bulgarian, through continuous learning and development, regular communication with internal (e.g., PACS/Legal) and external local stakeholders (e.g., Inhouse Tax Forums/TEI etc).
  • Maximise the benefit of the investment in tax technology, ensuring best practice use of systems in preparation and lodgement of compliance information across the Group.
  • Support the implementation of relevant compliance tools and procedures to improve compliance efficiency and consistency within the CCEP group.

What we expect from you –

  • University degree in Law, Accounting, Tax, or Finance required.
  • Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm, large law firm, and/or Multinational Corporation highly preferred.
  • Deep expertise of France and International taxation principles, legislation, policies and processes, with a minimum of 15 years of experience with some experience in Ireland and Bulgaria, would be an advantage.
  • Ability and willingness to do a broad range of French, Irish and Bulgarian and International tax work including indirect tax, transfer pricing analysis, tax planning, advice and implementation focusing on both corporate and compensation and benefits issues, tax audit assistance and compliance review.
  • Must have strong understanding of accounting concepts, proficient knowledge of French and international taxation of corporations, individuals and partnerships.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, self-motivated individual who takes ownership of projects, and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Effective Communication: Act as a trusted communicator, fostering strong internal and external client relationships, and ensuring clear and timely communication.
