In 2020, we launched our Wellbeing First Aider (WFA) training programme.
Bernie Knell, Director – Internal Audit, was onboard from the beginning, and upskilled as one of our cohort of in-house instructors, to be both a Wellbeing First Aider himself, as well as train other CCEP volunteers to do the same.
“Mental health and wellbeing is very close to my heart, so when the opportunity came up to join our Wellbeing First Aider training programme I was delighted to be involved. I feel privileged to be a WFA within CCEP - having the opportunity to listen, support and signpost my colleagues signpost to further support for mental health, and be part of a community that champions the fact that ‘It is okay not to be okay’. CCEP puts colleagues’ health and wellbeing at the top of the priority list, and initiatives like our WFA training are helping create more avenues for people to speak up and lean on each other if they need support - and give those passionate about being those supporters the chance to make a difference. Being one of our instructors too, it’s great to see how many like-minded colleagues we have who want to do the same.”
