About your new role….


As a member of the Workplace Relations team, this role is responsible for providing strategic advice, guidance and operational expertise on a wide range of topics focusing on Industrial Relations.  This role is a subject matter expert on Industrial Relations within the organisation across Australia.  


This role will play a lead through all stages of the Enterprise Bargaining process, from planning through negotiations, post negotiations and implementation.


Your core responsibilities will include:


Enterprise Bargaining:

  • Lead enterprise bargaining negotiations, ensuring agreements align with organisational goals and comply with the Fair Work Act.
  • Develop strategies for effective communication and negotiation with unions and employee representatives.

Dispute Resolution:

  • Implement and oversee dispute resolution processes, ensuring timely and fair resolution of workplace conflicts.
  • Act as an advisor in complex disputes, providing guidance and support to both management and employees.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant workplace relations legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and National Employment Standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address compliance gaps.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  •  Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including unions, regulatory bodies, and industry groups, to stay informed of best practices and regulatory changes.
  •   Communicate effectively with employees, management, and external partners to promote a culture of compliance and positive workplace relations.

About you!

To be successful in this role you will have:


Advanced Negotiation Skills:

  • Proven ability to negotiate complex agreements and resolve conflicts in a fair and constructive manner

Strong Legal & Legislative Understanding:

  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law, including the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and National Employment Standards
  • Experience in interpreting and applying legal requirements to workplace relations issues.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic workplace relations initiatives that align with organizational goals

Crisis Management:

  • Experience in managing workplace crises, including industrial actions and significant employee relations issues

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels

Cultural Competence:

  • Experience in working with diverse teams and promoting an inclusive workplace culture

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions

Tertiary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in Industrial Relations or employment law is desirable
