Senior Category Manager (Sydney)

Role Purpose

The Senior Category Manager is accountable for translating Category Strategy into enterprise wide commercial plans, playbooks, portfolio priorities and execution frameworks that deliver category growth and disproportionate share for CCEP. 

This is a high-impact leadership role. Acting as the commercial integration lead for their category portfolio, this role connects Category Strategy, Brand, R&MGM, Portfolio, Innovation, Customer Category and Sales to ensure strategic priorities are converted into clear actions, investment decisions and in market execution. 

The role provides category leadership across the full commercial system, influencing brand planning, portfolio strategy, price and promotional architecture, Go to Market priorities and customer execution. Through performance management, scorecards and governance routines, the role ensures category strategies are effectively embedded and translated into measurable commercial outcomes. 

This is a permanent full-time role based in our North Sydney head office.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial agenda for the Stills category, ensuring category strategies are translated into clear priorities, plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with Brand, RGM, Portfolio and Innovation teams to influence investment decisions, portfolio priorities and growth opportunities.
  • Shape annual brand and category plans, ensuring category opportunities are reflected in activation and investment strategies.
  • Drive value growth through pricing, pack architecture and promotional effectiveness initiatives.
  • Create and embed category playbooks, frameworks and best practices that can be scaled across customers and channels.
  • Lead category performance reviews, governance forums and scorecards to identify risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Influence innovation priorities, commercialisation plans and portfolio optimisation decisions.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Category teams to ensure category priorities are embedded within customer plans and go-to-market execution.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior commercial leaders, providing evidence-based recommendations that drive growth.

About You

You bring a strong blend of strategic thinking, commercial acumen and stakeholder influence.

You will likely have:

  • Significant FMCG experience across Category, Commercial, Brand, Revenue Growth Management, Portfolio, Innovation, Sales or Strategy.
  • A track record translating category strategies into commercial plans that deliver tangible business growth.
  • Strong understanding of category growth drivers, shopper behaviour, portfolio strategy, pricing and promotional effectiveness.
  • Experience developing compelling selling stories, category playbooks and execution frameworks.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams behind shared priorities.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to turn complex data into clear recommendations and action plans.
  • Experience working within a matrix organisation, leading through influence rather than authority.
  • A passion for driving category-led growth and delivering outcomes that balance customer, category, brand and business objectives.
