ABOUT STATEWIDE RECYCLING 

The Statewide Recycling Operations team is responsible for receiving, validating, blocking, warehousing, loading and dispatching used beverage containers. There is a strong focus on safety in our operation. The operations team is required to manage all day to day operational functions. The audit process forms the basis for the validation process and the conversion of weight to units for payment calculations to the Collection Depots.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE 

The primary responsibilities of the Statewide Recycling Operations & Quality Controller are to ensure the conversion of the weight of used beverage containers to units, received from Collection Depots is measured regularly and maintained.

Your working day will start at 7am through to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday & 7am to 3pm on Friday’s, with all legislative breaks included and any additional paid break Statewide provide. At times, it is acknowledged that additional hours may be required and or earlier start time may be required to facilitate and maintain the plant’s operations with prior approval from the manager. Weekend work may be required from time to time with prior notice.



WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING 

This role is responsible for a range of tasks. This includes but is not limited to:

  1. Always promoting safety, while recording, reviewing, and monitoring WH&S procedures and policies through the CCEP safety system (currently Beakon)
  2. Auditing used beverage containers from all approved South Australian depots as per contract agreements, while recording all finding and reporting each month to the operations Manager.
  3. Quality control, supporting and providing initiatives to minimising cross-contamination and separation techniques for a cleaner product.
  4. Keeping accurate records of unit counts and sample weights.
  5. Maintaining key relationships within the Statewide business, informing updated yields to AP
  6. Communication to Scrap buyers and Recyclers regarding Quality, Quantity and transport of products released for Tender of LPB, HDPE coloured, HDPE Opaque and Yakults
  7. Maintaining a positive and ethical business relationship with all buyers.
  8. Timely and accurate paperwork supplied to AP & AR validating volumes, weights and PO’s.
  9. Point of contact for all recycling depot, Scrap customers.
  10. End of Month stock take.
  11. Production support, supporting in all problem-solving/maintenance and employee issues in conjunction with the Team leader and Operations Manager
  12. Participate and promote in all safety initiatives.
  13. Housekeeping and maintaining cleaning standards
  14. Leading by example
  15. Clear communication with direct reports and Senior Managers.

The successful person will also perform the role of the Production Team Leader when the Production Team Leader is absent. During these times the role will report directly to the Operations Manager.

  • A demonstrated track record of partnering with teams to meet business requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with your team and different teams within the business.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and improvements.
  • Strong safety leadership
  • Ability to use business tools such as, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Production and Logistics supervision would be highly beneficial
